"Everybody likes a franchise character. Bruce (Willis) had his and Sylvester Stallone had Rocky, so I like coming back to Nick Fury. Nick Fury’s a great guy. I think a lot of people know that. I know him as something else because I’ve been alive longer than most of the fans that watch the movies so I know Nick Fury as the World War II veteran and all that stuff. It might be interesting to do one day but we find out little bits and pieces about Nick and we’re going into ‘Captain America 2’ in late March."
Samuel L. Jackson on a solo movie; Confirms Bigger Role In Cap 2
I read that the trailer for Thor 2 will be played before Iron Man 3. And then what do you want to bet that the Captain America 2 trailer will be shown before Thor 2.
So… feels before I get to the main feels.
Fucking Marvel is going to kill me.
Captain America 2: Casting Details
Latino Review has revealed that despite The Winter Soldier’s female lead shortlist including Emilia Clarke, Jessica Brown Findlay, Teresa Palmer, Imogen Poots, and Alison Brie, Marvel has “the most traction with” Scott Pilgrim actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Also, there are apparently two undisclosed male roles that the Russo Brothers are in the process of casting. Possibly villains, the American and foreign roles are both described as being “physical.” The shortlisted for the role(s) are Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster Waldau and Josh Holloway. While those two are expected to be screen-tested, Latino Review also reports that X-Men Origins: Wolverine actor Kevin Durand may also be considered, even though that possibility is “clinging to edge.”

Chris Evans Talks Captain America Sequel
Chris Evans recently told Collider that those aspects of Steve Rogers’ story will be explored in Captain America 2 and teased how the material cut from the superhero ensemble will play a big role in his next solo instalment.
”The most I am looking forward to is exploring a little bit of Steve’s…they had all those deleted scenes with The Avengers because a lot of those scenes are for Captain 2, you know what I mean? It was good stuff, but it all felt like that was his story. It is a different movie. With The Avengers there was so much to cram in. So I think making it any longer would have just been exhausting. A lot of that stuff [that was cut] is for Captain America 2. That is his story. It is him trying to on a personal level adjust to the fact that everyone he knows is gone and the whole Peggy Carter of it all. There are a lot of things that he kind of has to come to terms with. So I don’t know. I am excited to kind of see flashes of the first Captain, if you know what I mean, and to see his memory of what we now know as an audience of who he was.”
Anthony Mackie Talks Captain America 2
Anthony Mackie discusses his recent casting as Sam Wilson/The Falcon in Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He gives a run down of the character’s biography, and reveals that it’s a “huge honor” for him to be portraying the first African-American superhero in mainstream comics as well as being somebody that his son, nephews and nieces could idolize.
“I’m playing the Falcon. He’s this guy in Harlem who moved to California and became a drug dealer. His plane crashed, and he was genetically altered, and he can fly, has telepathic powers. He’s the first African-American superhero. It makes me feel all the work I’ve done has been paying off. I have a son, nephews and nieces, and I love the idea that they can dress up as the Falcon on Halloween. They now have someone they can idolize. That’s a huge honor for me.”
Hayley Atwell Seemingly Confirms Her Reprisal In Capitan America 2
Although the subtitle of the forthcoming Captain America sequel already alludes to the return of James Bucky Barnes and a deleted scene from Marvel The Avengers also hinted at the return of another 40s-era ally of Steve Rogers. With that in mind, it’s no surprise what the actress behind Peggy Carter, Hayley Atwell, had to offer when Bleeding Cool approached her at the premiere of her new film, The Sweeney.
“I can’t say yet because it hasn’t been officially released, and Marvel are very protective of their franchise.”
The Winter Soldier co-director Anthony Russo cleverly dodged a question in regards to the sequel exploring “dark” flashbacks. And with Peggy Carter still “active” in modern times, we’ll likely see her in flashbacks, and/or modern times. And if modern times, we’ll either see an older actress behind her portrayal or an aged Hayley Atwell, with the use of makeup and special effects. Anyhow, Marvel has also yet to “officially release” which actress will nab a new female addition to the cast, believed to be Peggy Carter’s niece, Sharon Carter.
Anna Kendrick Likely To Nab Female Lead In Cap 2?
According to questionable sources quoting co-director Anthony Russo, Up in the Air actress Anna Kendrick will likely play the female lead in the Marvel sequel, over other contenders.
Days ago, three actresses―Imogen Poots, Felicity Jones, Anna Kendrick―were revealed as front-runners for the undisclosed female lead role in Captain America 2. And now questionable sources from Vietnam newspaper Laodong are apparently quoting the anticipated film’s co-director, Anthony Russo, suggesting that the latter actress listed will likely get the role.
“There are a lot of good talent, but Anna Kendrick gently mixes features tough, especially over time, she has proven her own ability. Can’t say anything, but we do not deny hope to have the opportunity to collaborate with her in the near future”
Again, these “close sources” are in indeed questionable. Therefore, don’t be surprised if news emerges that contradicts what’s being reported above. If she gets the role, strongly believed to be Sharon Carter, what do you think?
