One of the main things I am looking forward to in IM3 is the interaction between Rhodey and Tony. This is my favorite scene in IM2 and it’s because of what’s not said rather than what is. It’s the expressions on Rhodey’s face that makes the whole sequence so perfect.

The look Rhodey is giving the entire room in the third shot is pure “I can’t believe you let him keep his toys. Did you learn nothing from those guys in the cave?! And then he switches to ‘Oh my GOD Tony, would you just sit the fuck down and behave.’

Then Stern freaks the fuck out and Rhodey is all ‘No Tony, I am not amused by this. Jesus. This is like the oral portion of the finals at MIT all over again’. All the while smirking behind his hand.

Right before Tony leaves the room Rhodey’s face is classic ‘You are impossible Stark. This is why we don’t go to nice places.’

Tony is like Rhodey’s annoying little brother that amuses the shit out of him even when he doesn’t want him to and is a pain in the ass.  BUT, he’s his pain in the ass and if anyone else messes with Tony, Rhodey will take THEM THE FUCK OUT.

Marvel Entertainment International President Simon Philips recently gave a talk in São Paulo, Brazil and said something he probably shouldn’t have. Apparently Tony Stark isn’t the only wearing armor in Iron Man 3 – Pepper Potts is suiting up!

At the last San Diego Comic-Con, director Jon Favreau revealed Gwyneth Paltrow almost had the opportunity to wear her own Iron Man armor in the previous films. “We almost did it a few times; we talked about it a lot. I think we all share your enthusiasm for that, and we all want to see Gwyneth kick a little ass,” he said. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige seconded the notion of wanting to see it happen. ”Everyone at this table thinks it would be the coolest thing in the world to see Pepper get in the suit at some point,” he said.

Looks like they finally decided to implement the fantastic idea with director Shane Black.

ComicBookMovie.com reported the news in what I’m hoping wasn’t just a big game of telephone. They had the info from Brazilian entertainment site, Omelete, which no longer has the news online, but instead has a message that reads “information removed at the request of Disney.” Something tells me that’s a good sign. Here’s what CBM wrote:

A transcription of the spoilerific report, via Protocida, reveals that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) will eventually have an underground Hall of Armors with at least 16 new armors, including a few classic designs from the comics. Simon Philips also revealed, or confirmed, that Virginia Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) will indeed get in on the action, this time by donning her own suit of armor.

We’ve already seen quite a number of suits in one of the Iron Man 3 posters, as well as a few different designs in a few photos, but we’ve yet to see a glimpse of Paltrow doing anything having to do with a suit of her own. (Mostly just getting caught by the bad guys and blown up.) But many of you know the character of Pepper Potts is more than just an assistant/girlfriend of Tony Stark, she’s donned her own armor as the hero Rescue in Marvel Comics. We don’t yet know if she’ll suit up for long in the film, if the armor will be a gift from Tony, or if she’ll cobble one together on her own to “rescue” her fella. I’m voting for the latter.

Set Photos Confirm Iron Patriot Armor To Be Featured In Iron Man 3

New photos from the web site thesuperficial.com show that the Iron Patriot armor will be making its way to the big screen in Iron Man 3. The Armor was first seen in 2009’s Dark Avengers comics following the events of Secret Invasion. In the comics Norman Osbourne is the first to put the Iron Patriot armor on, but with Sony owning the rights to pretty much everything Spider-Man related that rules this particular villain out. In the photos you can see actor James Badge Dale wearing the Iron Patriot armor. 

Iron Man 3 is currently kicking off its production in North Carolina at the moment. We have had a couple of stories pop up regarding some details on who Ben Kingsly is playing as well as Robert Downey Jr being spotted arriving on set.

“[W]hen I did Ivan Vanko in Iron Man, I fought… You know, I explained to Justin Theroux, to the writer, and to [Jon] Favreau, that I wanted to bring some other layers and colors [to the charater], not just make this Russian a complete murderous revenging bad guy. And they allowed me to do that. Unfortunately, the [people] at Marvel just wanted a one-dimensional bad guy, so most of the performance ended up the floor.”

He continued:

“[It’s] ****ing too bad, but it’s their loss. If they want to make mindless comic book movies, then I don’t want to be a part of that. I don’t want to have to care so much and work so hard, and then fight them for intelligent reasoning, and just because they’re calling the shots they… You know, I didn’t work for three months on the accent and all the adjustments and go to Russia just so I could end up on the floor. Because that can make somebody say at the end of the day, oh **** ‘em, I’m just going to mail it in. But I’m not that kind of guy. I’m never going to mail it in.”

Rourke blamed both the studio – for their desire to make mindless comic book movies – and Jon Favreau – for his lack of conviction (or in Rourke’s words, his lack of “nuts”)
